Quanto aos melhores filmes, gostaria de destacar meus quatro "all time favorites" (tenho outros "all time favorites", mas não ganharam o Oscar):

1939: Gone with the Wind (E o Vento Levou)
1940: Rebecca
1965: The Sound of Music (Noviça Rebelde)

Houve prêmios recusados: George C. Scott e Marlon Brando (neste caso, o segundo dele).

Em 1968 o melhor filme foi In the Heat of the Night, com Sidney Poitier e Rod Steiger.
